ARNOS VALE

Had a brief ArtPix outing to Bristol the other day, checking out various things, one of which was the incredible Victorian cemetery at Arnos Vale.

The site is full of overgrown and atmospheric Gothic graves or all shapes, sizes and designs, very similar to Highgate Cemetery. It also serves as an important natural environment for an array of insects, birds, and rather aptly, a colony of bats!

Being a potentially spooky place, there is also an air of mystery in the name. Sometimes there's an apostrophe on Arnos, sometimes there isn't. Like a ghost it appears then disappears!!

VINTAGE WOODEN BULB TRAY

Got a lovely old bulb tray for sale.

These make brilliant displays for vintage traders at markets or in a shop, but can also be used in a greenhouse to hold loads of plants in pots.

You can decide how to use it!!

It has been labelled down one side with the name Associated British Bulbs, which is a company based at Spalding in Lincolnshire, who began life in 1963.

Go and have a peep HERE on Facebook Marketplace!

PIC OF THE DAY

Once again I've failed miserably to keep on with blogs and posts, what is it with this year??!!

Anyway, here is my random pic of the day!

A dramatic sky captured at the base of Corfe Castle in Dorset.

The steep hill in the foreground is actually the incredible motte, of the original motte and bailey castle.

In the middle of the two hills run vintage railway trains, tootling along the restored line between Swanage and Norton.

MID-CENTURY HALF-MOON HALL TABLE

Got a very stylish Mid-Century table for sale!

With its half-moon shape, it was made to fit in a hallway. You would have put your telephone on it, and plonked your keys and letters on it.

It also has a handy extra shelf underneath, where you would've stored the telephone directory (remember those?!), and also ending up chucking the junk mail in.

Or you could just put a plant on it!

Its on sale on Facebook Marketplace, so have a look HERE, and feel free to buy it!!!
